a roaring good time.

I had a whirlwind of a week.  My cousin came to stay with us for awhile and I had such a great time hanging out with her.  She's such a sweetheart and has such a fun personality.  I can't wait to see her again when I visit in October.  I was also able to visit with my other cousins (her parents and her brother) when they spent a few days in town.  Even though the weather was nasty on Friday, me and the boyfriend took Gibson and Ava to the Aquarium in New Orleans and went for beignets afterwards.  I mean you can't go to New Orleans without stopping by Cafe Du Monde (no matter how many times you've been before).  I think my cousins seemed to have a great time and I enjoyed getting to hang out with them and see the wonderful people they are growing up to be.

 love these two!

He's hoping to be a Marine Biologist when he's older.

some of my favorite people to be around.

On Saturday we went to a friends wedding at the White House in Biloxi and I am so happy they decided to redo the hotel.  It's such a beautiful establishment and it was one of the prettiest weddings I've had the pleasure of attending.  Hope you enjoy my moments I captured over the course of this week.

The White House, such a gorgeous venue.

Did I mention I finally broke down and bought a bookshelf?  It was much needed cause I cannot tell you how sad my books looked stacked on the floor around my room.  Plus, it feels like a great addition to my space.

the long weekend.

hello friends and general lurkers…

I am seriously slacking on my blogging. not cool.  I think I take too much on sometimes so I've been neglecting my poor blog as a result.  I swear I'll be better. *cross my heart*

So, what have I been up to?  Well, I'm glad you asked. I've been doing the usual… work, school, catching up with friends (when I can), etc…  exciting stuff, right?  Any who, I had plans to attend Book Bash in Orlando at the end of June with some friends and wouldn't you know my luck I got this dreadful (and I mean dreadful) cold.  I mean I asked the doctor to put me down after I finally dragged my half dead self up to her clinic.  It was that bad.  After my first round of meds didn't work I went back to the clinic for the stronger stuff to help get me to Orlando.  I was NOT missing this trip.  I had already paid for my tickets so come sickness or health I was going to get there.

I was still feeling kind of out of it for most of the trip, but I'm so glad I pushed myself to go.  Book Bash was a blast.  Got to meet the authors of some of my favorite books and the parks didn't disappoint.  Let me say one thing about this trip…. HOGWARTS.  I mean, I could've been perfectly content to hang out there the whole trip.  Like I wanted to quit my job and go work as a house elf there.  You're probably laughing (and I am too), but I'm still debating it… no joke.  I spent a ridiculous amount of money on really nerdy things and I don't regret it whatsoever.  So I hope you all enjoy my photos/memories of my trip.

 pure happiness on this face.

 until next time…
